High protein freeze-drying is a drying method specifically used to handle materials with high protein content (such as protein solutions, protein suspensions, etc.). The technology removes water from the material through a process of low temperature pre-freezing and sublimation in a vacuum environment to obtain a dry, stable protein product.

 

Technical principle

 

High protein freeze-drying technology is based on the principle of freeze-drying, which means that materials are frozen into a solid state first, and then the ice crystals in the materials are sublimed directly into gas under vacuum conditions, thereby removing water. In this process, because the material is always in a low temperature state, the biological activity and nutrients of the protein can be preserved to the maximum extent.

 

Process flow


1. Pretreatment: Appropriate pretreatment of protein solution or suspension, such as adjusting pH value, adding stabilizer, etc., to enhance its stability in the lyophilization process.
2. Low temperature pre-freezing: the pre-treated protein material is quickly cooled to a low temperature, usually using liquid nitrogen or freezer for freezing. During the freezing process, the water in the material will form an ice crystal structure.
(3) Primary Drying: In a vacuum environment, by increasing the temperature and reducing the pressure, the ice crystal is directly changed from solid to gas, that is, the sublimation process. This stage mainly removes most of the water in the material, but the protein still has a certain solvent.
4. Analytical Drying (Secondary Drying) : at higher temperatures, continuous evaporation to remove residual water and solvents. This process helps to remove water more thoroughly while maintaining protein stability.
