Baked Dog Food

Baked dog food is a dog food made of low temperature baking process, which is different from traditional high temperature puffed food. By 60-90℃ low temperature slow drying, retain more natural nutrients, avoid the loss of nutrients caused by high temperature, crisp taste, dry surface is not greasy, more suitable for picky food or gastrointestinal sensitive dogs.

1. Protein (core index)

Ordinary baking grain: 28%~35%

High-end baked grain: 36%~45% (higher meat content)

Low temperature baking reduces protein denaturation and has higher bioavailability

High proportion of animal protein, more comprehensive amino acids (puffed food may destroy some amino acids due to high temperature)

2. Fat (energy source)

✅ Source: Animal fat (chicken oil, fish oil), vegetable oil (flaxseed oil, coconut oil)

✅ Content: 12%~20% (slightly lower than the expanded grain, no extra grease on the surface)

✅ Advantages:

Better Omega-3&6 ratio (especially for fish oil/flaxseed formulas)

Low fat reduces the risk of obesity and pancreatitis

3. Carbohydrates (starch)

✅ Source: Grainless foods (tubers, beans), grains (oats, brown rice)

✅ Content: 20%~35% (lower than puffed grain, because puffed grain needs high starch molding)

✅ Advantages:

Low starch, more suitable for diabetes, weight loss dogs

Gluten-free formulations reduce allergy risk (but ensure that alternative sources of carbon are of good quality)

4. Dietary fiber (Gastrointestinal health)

✅ Source: Pumpkin, sweet potato, alfalfa, prebiotics (FOS/MOS)

✅ content: 3%~8%

✅ Function:

Regulate intestinal flora and reduce soft stools

Some brands add probiotics (need to mark the number of active bacteria)
