Freeze drying systems, also known as vacuum freeze-drying machines or freeze-drying machines, are mainly used to remove moisture from materials while retaining their original structure and activity. They are widely used in fields such as food, medicine, and biological products. The following are the main components and functions of a freeze-drying system:

1. Condenser: The condenser is one of the key parts of the freeze-drying system, and its main function is to capture the sublimated water vapor in a low-temperature environment. When the material is frozen in the freeze-drying box and placed under vacuum conditions, the moisture in the material will directly sublimate from solid to gaseous. The condenser maintains an extremely low temperature through a cooling medium (such as refrigerant), causing the sublimated water vapor to condense into frost on its surface, thereby achieving effective removal of water molecules.

2. Vacuum system: The vacuum system consists of a vacuum pump and other related valves, pipelines, etc., used to extract air and moisture vapor from the freeze-drying box, in order to create a low to certain degree of vacuum environment. In this environment, the moisture in the material can sublime more effectively without going through the liquid phase, thereby ensuring that the material structure is not damaged.

3. Heating system: The heating system is very important in the later stage of the freeze-drying process. It is responsible for controlling the temperature inside the freeze-drying box, ensuring that the material gradually heats up while maintaining low temperature. This can further promote the sublimation of water, and in the final stage, it can desorb the water that may remain in the internal pores of the material.

4. Control system: The control system includes electrical control components, sensors, and software algorithms, which are used to precisely regulate various parameters throughout the freeze-drying process, such as vacuum degree, temperature, time, etc. This system ensures that the freeze-drying process strictly follows the preset procedures to achieve the desired drying effect and product quality.

5. Material processing system:

·Freeze drying chamber/drying oven: It is a closed container that can withstand vacuum pressure inside and can freeze dry materials through heating and cooling. Materials are usually placed on pallets and then placed in freeze-drying chambers.

·Tray: A device for loading materials, usually made of materials with good heat transfer performance, which facilitates rapid freezing and uniform heating of materials. The tray design should be easy to load, unload, and clean, and ensure unobstructed gas flow during the sublimation process of the material.
